Andres Nocioni
The 76ers have decided to shut down forward Andres Nocioni until his fractured finger heals.
“I think we’re going to shut ‘Noc’ down a little bit,” said Doug Collins.
“I think he’d like to shut it down for a little bit and get that [right, shooting] hand under control. There was a play in front of our bench the other day that Noc normally would have eaten alive and I could see him not wanting to put the hand into the pile, and I can understand that. It was amazing that he played with that as he did.”
The forward suffered the injury on Jan. 7, but has played through it.

Brandon Roy
Portland Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy will undergo arthroscopic surgery on both knees, it was announced today by General Manager Rich Cho.
The surgery will be performed by Dr. Don Roberts in Vancouver, Wash. next week. There is no timetable for his return.
“I’m trying to do the best thing I can to get back on the floor,” said Roy.
“We’ve been able to get a number of different opinions and it’s something we’ve decided.”

Gerald Wallace
The Cavaliers and Bobcats have discussed a trade that would send Gerald Wallace to Cleveland, according to a league source.
Cleveland would use their trade exception to acquire Wallace, but they have also pushed for a lottery-protected first-round pick for them to take on the two years and $22 million left on the forward’s contract.
Nothing is imminent as the Cavaliers have until July 10 to use the $14.5 million trade exception created when they completed a sign-and-trade with the Heat for LeBron James.
The Cavaliers are in the midst of an 11-game losing streak and have an NBA-worst 8-30 record.

Michael Beasley
Michael Beasley injured his left ankle for the third straight game on Tuesday against the Spurs and says he will give it time to heal.
Beasley turned the ankle Friday against Portland, aggravated it Sunday in San Antonio and then again in the final four minutes of Tuesday’s loss. He plans to give the ankle some rest before returning to action.
“I wasn’t 100 percent coming into the game, but I felt like I was good enough to play meaningful minutes,” Beasley said. “That’s the third game straight I stepped on somebody’s foot. It was just one of them things.”

Carmelo Anthony
As some tire of Carmelo Anthony updates, Donnie Walsh is probably pleased with any reporting the stall of a deal sending the New York City native to the Nets.
The Knicks remain very much in the hunt for Carmelo Anthony mostly because New York remains the Denver Nuggets All-Star forward’s preferred destination.
A person familiar with the negotiations told the Daily News that talks between the Nuggets and Knicks are ongoing and classified the possibility of a deal with New York at “50-50.” “He’d like to play in New York,” said the source, who requested anonymity. “But I don’t see anything happening soon.”

According to sources, the Celtics plan to counter the Heat’s athleticism with “brute size” and Rasheed Wallace will come out of retirement to come back to the Celtics.

Rasheed Wallace
Sources close to Wallace revealed that is the plan, because Rasheed wants another shot at the Lakers in the NBA Finals.
While the Celtics players may want Rasheed back, they currently have a league maximum of 15 players under contract.
