The Milwaukee Bucks have signed veteran guard Jerry Stackhouse to a contract for the rest of the season.
Stackhouse will join the Bucks when they return to Milwaukee and may see action in their next game on Wednesday. Coach Scott Skiles says he will be activated for Wednesday’s game against Toronto.
The former All-Star guard has been looking for a new team since the summer and was targeted by the Bucks — who began play Sunday two games out of the final playoff spot in the East — after Michael Redd suffered a season-ending knee injury this past Sunday in Los Angeles against the Lakers.

Michael Redd is 30 years old. He has spent his whole life playing basketball, working to be where he is now, a star player in the NBA.
And now it appears the dream he has lived may be over. Redd reportedly tore his anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in his left knee on Sunday night in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
This will certainly put an end to his season. But there is some speculation that this could mean the end of his career as well, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

A basketball source has confirmed that Michael Redd suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee on Sunday night in Los Angeles.
The injury will sideline the Bucks shooting guard for the rest of the season.
The injury is the same one that Redd suffered nearly one year ago, on Jan. 24 against Sacramento at the Bradley Center.
He suffered a torn ACL and torn MCL in his left knee on that night and was lost for the rest of the season.

The local Monte Halls would love to see the Bucks neatly wrap up Michael Redd, place a bow on top and ship him off to Houston for Tracy McGrady in a tidy holiday exchange of highly paid, high-profile, high-scoring veterans who are both coming off serious injuries.
The reality, though, is that it is highly unlikely such a trade will ever take place.
After all, is it realistic to think the Rockets would trade McGrady and his coveted expiring $22.5 million contract and take back Redd, who after this season has one more on his contract at a hefty $18.3 million?

Bucks guard Michael Redd did not play on Saturday night after not feeling right in the team’s previous game.
Redd told Milwaukee’s trainer following Friday night’s loss to Oklahoma City that his left knee was not feeling right.
He suffered a left patella tendon strain four weeks ago and only recently returned.
“When you play in game motion, you really find out if you’re ready or not,” Redd said Saturday. “Explosion is not there yet, and it’s obvious. Just not finishing, not getting above the rim.

A hot Milwaukee Bucks team ran into the savvy San Antonio Spurs on Monday night.
The Spurs splashed cold water on the upstart Bucks, using a big third-quarter push to grab a 112-98 victory at the AT&T Center.
The game also marked the return of Bucks guard Michael Redd, who had missed the previous nine games due to a left patella tendon strain.
Redd admittedly was rusty as he scored four points in 11 minutes and was 1 for 6 from the foul line.

Michael Redd of the Milwaukee Bucks will miss at least two weeks after experiencing soreness in his surgically repaired left knee.
Redd underwent surgery in March to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament, and he left Saturday night’s game against Detroit during the third quarter because of discomfort in the knee. He underwent an MRI on the knee on Sunday.
The 30-year-old Redd signed a maximum deal after the 2004-05 season, but has struggled staying healthy since, missing 90 games over the last four seasons, primarily related to his left knee.
