Trevor Ariza

Trevor Ariza was sent to the New Orleans Hornets and Darren Collison to the Indiana Pacers in a four-team, five-player trade Wednesday.

In the trade, the Hornets also sent James Posey to the Pacers.

The Pacers sent Troy Murphy to the New Jersey Nets. And the Nets sent Courtney Lee to the Rockets.

The four-team deal could fill some long-term needs for the Hornets, Pacers and Nets, as well as provide needed salary relief for the Rockets.

Linas Kleiza

Toronto has signed free agent Linas Kleiza to a multiyear contract.

The Raptors acquired the rights to Kleiza nine days ago when the Denver Nuggets opted not to match Toronto’s offer sheet. Kleiza played with Greek club Olympiakos last year after four seasons in Denver.

The 6-foot-8 forward from Lithuania averaged 8.3 points with the Nuggets.

Matt Barnes

Veteran swingman Matt Barnes, one of the most coveted free agents left on the open market, announced Monday night that he is headed to the Toronto Raptors.

But the limited sign-and-trade options available to Orlando — Barnes’ last team — could scuttle the deal, according to sources close to the situation.

Under the impression that he would be receiving a two-year contract in the $10 million range, Barnes thanked Magic fans via his Twitter feed and said that he’ll be “playing for the Toronto Raptors” next season.

Hedo Turkoglu

The Suns are closing in on acquiring Hedo Turkoglu in a trade with Toronto.

Phoenix would send Leandro Barbosa and Dwayne Jones to the Raptors for Turkoglu.

The Raptors would then move Jones and the traded player exception acquired in the Chris Bosh trade for Boris Diaw.

The Suns must use $6.5 million of the trade exception from the Knicks in the Amare Stoudemire trade to acquire Childress from Atlanta.

Chris Bosh

Everything is set for Chris Bosh to join LeBron James in Cleveland. Everything, that is, except Bosh’s approval.

The Toronto Raptors have told the Cleveland Cavaliers they will do a sign-and-trade with them for Bosh, according to several league sources.

The exact details of the potential trade have not been solidified, but Toronto likely would get Anderson Varejao and/or J.J. Hickson, Delonte West and perhaps Anthony Parker. A draft pick could be involved as well.

Sources said the Raptors will try to acquire draft picks and young players in return for Chris Bosh.

They would likely ask for forward Michael Beasley and point guard Mario Chalmers in any deal with the Miami Heat.

If Bosh were to go to the Chicago Bulls, the Raptors like forward Taj Gibson and center Joakim Noah.

If Bosh settles on the New York Knicks, the Raptors would try to engage in a double sign-and-trade that sends Knicks forward David Lee to Toronto.

Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and LeBron James met over the weekend in Miami to seriously discuss their impending free agency and the possibility of all playing together for the Heat.

Sources with knowledge of the meeting stressed to ESPN.com that James has not committed to leaving Cleveland for Miami.

One source did label Miami as the new frontrunner to land James in a package deal with Bosh and a re-signed Wade but also cautioned that James was “non-committal” with the start of free agency fast approaching.

Hedo Turkoglu has privately expressed to league friends a desire to return to the Sacramento Kings.

The Kings and Raptors have yet to engage in trade discussions, sources say, but communication is a likely possibility before the end of the month.

League executives believe Sacramento would need Toronto to minimally take forward Andres Nocioni and the two years, $13.5 million left on his contract.

P.J. Carlesimo

The Toronto Raptors announced Wednesday they have added veteran NBA coach P.J. Carlesimo as an assistant to head coach Jay Triano’s staff.

Carlesimo brings 35 years of coaching experience to the Raptors, including 13 seasons in the NBA.

This will be the second time that Triano and Carlesimo have worked together. Carlesimo was the head coach and Triano his assistant of the USA Basketball Select Team in 2007 and 2008.
