The Boston Celtics chose to waive Lester Hudson rather than guarantee his contract for the rest of the season.
So, as of Wednesday evening, the team has a roster spot open and it would like to fill it before the postseason gets underway.
President of basketball operations Danny Ainge tried to trade Hudson but could not find a taker.
Ainge points out that there are a lot of expiring contracts this year, which could help more trades happen as it gets closer to the deadline. And some, such as Marko Jaric and Rafer Alston, have already been bought out so those players could move to other teams.
