If something should go amiss, the Celtics do have some bargaining chips.

Rumors still persist that Rondo may be traded for someone like Steve Nash, but the expiring contracts of Ray Allen ($19.76 million), Brian Scalabrine ($3.4 million) and Eddie House ($2.86 million) are the real possibilities.

That is about $26 million in expiring deals, and you would better believe in this financial climate there will be plenty of teams looking to dump salary. There could be a key player to be had.
