Jared Dudley
The Phoenix Suns today announced that the club has exercised the team options on the contracts of third-year forward Jared Dudley and second-year center Robin Lopez for the 2010-11 season.
Dudley, 24, enters his first full season with the Suns and third career campaign in the NBA.
The 7-0, 255-pound Lopez was the Suns’ first-round selection in the 2008 NBA Draft (15th overall).
The Suns have declined the 2010-11 team option on the contract of third-year swingman Alando Tucker.

Aaron Brooks
Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced today that the team has picked up the option on the contract of guard Aaron Brooks.
Brooks (6-0, 161, Oregon), who was selected by Houston in the first round (26th overall) of the 2007 NBA Draft, is averaging 18.5 points and 8.5 assists in two games this season.
In 2008-09, Brooks averaged career highs of 11.2 points (.366, 113-309 3FG), 2.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 80 games (35 starts).

Magic guard Vince Carter sprained his ankle in the team’s 95-85 win over the Nets on Friday night.
Carter had 16 points when he left the game in the second quarter with the injury.
“I heal like a young guy so I’ll be good tomorrow,” Carter told the Associated Press after sitting out the second half.
“Hopefully, I’ll be back Sunday. We’re going to be smart about it. It’s a long season. I’m feeling better now that I am walking on it.”
X-rays were negative on the ankle and he did not experience a lot of swelling.

Hawks forward Josh Smith became the youngest player in NBA history to reach 900 blocks late in the Hawks’ game against Washington on Friday, surpassing Shaquille O’Neal, at 23 and 329 days.
Smith, however, insisted that being a shot blocker was never a part of his NBA master plan.
“It started out with me being young and just playing with energy, and now it has become something I just have a knack for,” he said.
